Tony Smibert AM has spent 35 years moving through JMW Turner's watercolour techniques, into Zen and Taoist brush painting, and out the other side — arriving at large-scale acrylic wash on canvas. The results are monochrome Tasmanian landscapes: escarpments, weather fronts, rock. His Deloraine studio is where that progression sits in physical form.
