Thor's Hammer

Since 1994, Thor Diesendorf's Griffith workshop has been pulling hardwood from Canberra demolition sites—floor boards, cladding, posts, benchtops, custom furniture—and running it through the saw and planer until the grey comes off. The range of species in any given structural salvage runs to fifteen. The timber doesn't get wasted. Neither does the design.
